About the best I can do is cover hardy greens and store them in the ground till November and then start cold hardy greens in cold frames by the end of March. Seeing your greens in January makes me so long for a milder climate. At least our weather is a little more predictable, or maybe we just prepare for the extremes and are pleasantly surprised when it is not miserable.
